Abstract

Some time ago, the following headline arose my attention:Chilean executives are the least empathetic in Latin America (CNN, 2019). The news referred to a study developed by DNA Human Capital. According to the study,65% of those surveyed in Chilean companies indicated that the greatest flaw of their leaders was a lack of empathy.Fifty-eight percent indicated that one of the biggest problems was the lack of communication and 42% stated that they had asked for more and better feedback from their superiors regarding the tasks performed.Chile's growth over the past three decades has provided our generation with comfort and access to godos and services that our parents and grandparents could only dream of. But the covid-19 pandemic has shown us that such growth has only permeated some aspects of our nation's quality of life and that we still have enormous challenges to face as a society. And from a business point of view, we still have a long way to go.
