Introduction: Cervical dysplasia is a precursor lesion of cervical cancer, a malignant neoplasm that constitutes a global public health challenge. In Chile, despite the existence of prevention and screening programs, it is still a prevalent pathology and updated epidemiological studies are limited. Objective: To describe the behavior of hospital discharge rate due to cervical dysplasia between 2021 and 2024 in Chile, to calculate the rate according to age group, and to determine the average total hospital stay and by age group. Methodology: Observational, descriptive, and cross-sectional study, based on census analysis of the Department of Health Statistics and Information and the National Institute of Statistics of Chile registries. The variables analyzed were year, age group, and hospital stay. Result: Between 2021 and 2024, 11.181 hospital discharges due to cervical dysplasia were registered in Chile. Women aged 20 to 44 years had the highest hospital rate (55,05 per 100.000 inhabitants), while women aged 80 years or older had the longest hospital stays (2,37 days on average). Discussion: Higher rates in young groups could be associated with modifiable risk factors. Hospital stay increases with age, which could be explained by different factors. Conclusion: The findings suggest the need to strengthen and focus screening strategies, which could reduce the hospital burden in the groups currently most susceptible to prolonged stays due to cervical dysplasia.
