Abstract
In this work, we investigate the expenditure behavior of Chilean municipalities using procurement data from January 2007 to December 2022. Drawing from the Principle of Relatedness from economic complexity, we aim to uncover the underlying dynamics and factors influencing municipal spending behaviors. Through a comprehensive examination of this extensive dataset, the research sheds light on the interconnectedness of municipalities, their financial decision-making processes, and the broader economic implications.
The findings not only offer insights into the intricacies of municipal expenditures but also contribute to the broader discourse on economic complexity and its application in understanding regional financial behaviors.
