dc.description.abstractIntroducción: El Traumatismo Encefalocraneano es un concepto que describe una amplia gama de lesiones que ocurren en el cerebro y se puede definir como una alteración en la función normal del cerebro causada por un golpe, una sacudida o una lesión penetrante en la cabeza. A pesar de ser una enfermedad prevenible, su incidencia y mortalidad han ido en aumento y se proyecta que esta tendencia continúe. Objetivo: Sintetizar la evidencia actual sobre la prevención primaria, secundaria y terciaria del Traumatismo Encefalocraneano a nivel internacional. Metodología: Se realizó una búsqueda bibliográfica de revisiones sistemáticas y metaanálisis en la plataforma Pubmed con un rango de 10 años en idioma español e inglés. Además, se utilizó literatura gris que incluyó el uso de distintas guías internacionales, asociaciones e instituciones. Desarrollo: A nivel primario se destaca por su relevancia el uso de casco, prevención de caídas, consumo de alcohol y cinturón de seguridad. Respecto al nivel secundario, es el tratamiento precoz el que cobra importancia mientras que el nivel terciario se caracteriza por intervenciones como el ácido tranexámico, la terapia de ventilación y rehabilitación. Conclusión:El Traumatismo Encefalocraneano es una patología a tener en cuenta en el contexto internacional debido a la incidencia y mortalidad que presenta. Existen diversas intervenciones que se pueden aplicar tanto a nivel primario como secundario o terciario y que deben incluirse en los protocolos de atención. Introduction: Traumatic Brain Injury is a concept that describes a wide range of injuries that occur in the brain and can be defined as a disturbance in normal brain function caused by a blow, jolt, or penetrating injury to the head. Despite being a preventable disease, its incidence and mortality have been increasing and this trend is projected to continue. Objective: Synthesize the current evidence on the primary, secondary and tertiary prevention of Traumatic Brain Injury at an international level. Methodology: A bibliographic search of systematic reviews and meta-analysis was carried out on the Pubmed platform with a range of 10 years in Spanish and English. In addition, gray literature was used that included the use of different international guides, associations and institutions. Development: At the primary level, the use of helmets, fall prevention, alcohol consumption and seat belts stand out for their relevance. Regarding the secondary level, it is early treatment that becomes important while the tertiary level is characterized by interventions such as tranexamic acid, ventilation therapy and rehabilitation. Conclusion: Traumatic Brain Injury is a pathology to be considered in the international context due to the incidence and mortality it presents. There are various interventions that can be applied at both the primary, secondary and tertiary levels and that must be included in care protocols.
