The representation of nature has a long history associated with the evolution of art and science, where drawing has played a fundamental role in identifying, studying and recording species and phenomena. This has enabled us to gather valuable knowledge about our environment and thus understand how the natural world works. In the context of the climate crisis and uncertain futures regarding the conservation of ecosystems and their respective species of flora, fauna and fungi, illustration acquires new meaning. The naturalist view is important in raising awareness and communicating these issues.
