Abstract Bernese periacetabular osteotomy has become a secure and reproducible technique for treatment of hip dysplasia. It allows an adequate reorientation of the acetabulum and coverage of the femoral head improving biomechanical conditions of the hip joint. We present a review of literatura and a modification of original technique that includes a small-er incision and preservation of the abductor muscles and rectus femoris tendon insertion.es
