Publication Mascotas y caravanas: Estrategias de movilidad en adolescentes migrantes no acompañados para ingresar a Chile(2025) Pavez-Soto, Iskra; Acuña, Valeria; Pineda, Belén; Salinas, Sius; Ortiz, Juan; Dufraix, IciarEl objetivo de este artículo es identificar las estrategias de movilidad desplegadas por las y los adolescentes migrantes no acompañados que han comenzado a llegar a Chile desde la pandemia en adelante y provienen en su mayoría de Venezuela, dada la crisis sin precedentes. El estudio utilizó un enfoque cualitativo, mediante la aplicación de técnicas de recolección de datos en la zona de la frontera norte (Región de Arica y Parinacota y Tarapacá) y de asentamiento en el centro del país (Región Valparaíso y Metropolitana): se realizó observación participante en territorios fronterizos y entrevistas semiestructuradas en profundidad a interventores, activistas y autoridades de instituciones relacionadas con la infancia y la migración. Se concluye que las principales estrategias migratorias utilizadas son el acoplamiento a grupos e incluso familias y caravanas para proveerse protección durante el trayecto y en el cruce de las fronteras, debido a la presencia de bandas delictuales y los “coyotes”. Se destaca la figura de las mascotas como una forma de proveerse compañía y protección, dada la peligrosidad del corredor migratorio del Cono Sur. Se recomienda considerar estas estrategias migratorias en el diseño de políticas públicas que atiendan a la complejidad del campo transnacional en la región latinoamericana. The aim of this article is to identify the mobility strategies used by unaccompanied adolescent migrants who have arrived in Chile since the pandemic, mostly from Venezuela, in the face of an unprecedented crisis. The study used a qualitative approach, through the application of data collection techniques in the northern border area (Arica and Parinacota regions and Tarapacá) and in the centre of the country (Valparaíso and Metropolitan regions): participant observation in border areas and semi-structured in-depth interviews with interveners, activists and authorities of institutions related to children and migration. It concludes that the main migratory strategies adopted are to join groups, even families and caravans, to find protection during the journey and when crossing borders, due to the presence of criminal gangs and 'coyotes'. Pets are highlighted as a means of providing companionship and protection, given the dangerous nature of the Southern Cone migration corridor. It is recommended that these migration strategies be considered in the design of public policies that address the complexity of the transnational field in the Latin American region.Publication Derechos e identidad de la niñez migrante en el campamento Vicente Reyes (Maipú, Chile)(2025) Pavez-Soto, Iskra; Pineda, BelénEl objetivo de este artículo es analizar el ejercicio de los derechos de identidad, protección y participación de la niñez migrante que vive en el campamento Vicente Reyes (Maipú, Chile). Mediante metodologías cualitativas, se realizó una observación participante en talleres infantiles durante tres meses y entrevistas semiestructuradas a madres y padres extranjeros. Los resultados muestran que los derechos de adscripción se ejercen caracterizados por la identidad híbrida de las nuevas generaciones, las cuales mantienen referentes culturales del país de origen al mismo tiempo que adhieren a valores y prácticas del país de destino; que los derechos de protección se ven vulnerados por las condiciones de vida de alta precariedad socioeconómica y habitacional; y que los derechos de participación se ejercen en el marco de un proyecto de la ONG Proyecto Amar Migrar, que ofrece apoyo escolar y encuentros interculturales. Se concluye que las condiciones estructurales de exclusión dificultan el ejercicio de los derechos humanos, pero una intervención basada en enfoque de derechos promueve la inclusión de la niñez marginada. Las políticas públicas deberían considerar esta realidad para garantizar la integración de la niñez migrante mediante el ejercicio de sus derechos. The aim of this article is to analyze the exercise of the rights of identity, protection, and participation of migrant children living in the Vicente Reyes Camp (Maipú, Chile). Using qualitative methodology, participant observation was carried out in children's workshops over a period of three months, and semi-structured interviews were conducted with foreign mothers and fathers. The results show that the rights of affiliation are exercised in a way that is characterized by a hybrid identity among the new generations, who maintain cultural references from their country of origin while also adhering to the values and practices of their country of destination. while protection rights are violated by highly precarious socioeconomic and housing conditions. Finally, participation rights are exercised in the NGO project Proyecto Amar Migrar, which offers school support and intercultural encounters. It is concluded that structural conditions of exclusion hinder the exercise of human rights, but an intervention based on a rights-based approach promotes the inclusion of marginalized children. Public policies should take this reality into account to ensure the integration of migrant children through the exercise of their rights.
