Introduction: Alzheimer’s disease is a neurodegenerative disorder that progressively affects memory, cognition and behavior, and causes dependency and family and health-system impact; in Chile it affects about 200.000 people. Objetive: To reflect on nursing care across the different stages of the disease and on the tensions between biomedical progress and clinical reality. Methodology: Critical and comparative reflection on three sources (a report from an international organization and two scientific articles from 2022). Discussion: Late diagnosis, informal caregiver burden and limited integration between science and primary care restrict comprehensive care; this care must be adapted to each stage. Conclusion: Addressing Alzheimer’s disease requires an interdisciplinary approach that combines scientific rigor, health education and support, and strengthens undergraduate nursing education.
