However, there is lacking evidence demonstrating superiority of one technique over the other and limited audiovisual resources. Most surgical procedures aim to release the iliotibial band; nevertheless, few focus on reducing concomitant inflammation. The present article illustrates a Z-plasty lengthening technique associated with local bursectomy for treating iliotibial band syndrome refractory to conservative treatment.
