The patient was operated, excising a gangrenous and perforated appendix. During closure a second appendix that was not inflamed, located three cm apart from the first one, was observed. It was also excised and the pathologic report confirmed that both surgical pieces corresponded to appendices, one inflamed and the other normal.en-USAppendicitisAppendixDuplicationDouble appendix.
